Clinic significance
TGF-beta family glycoprotein, responsible for Müllerian duct regression in the male foetus. Signal transmission is performed via serine/threonine kinase activity receptors. Interest in paediatric endocrinology, particularly in cases of persistent Müllerian duct syndrome, a rare form of sexual ambiguity. Also of gynaecological interest for granulosa tumour diagnosis.
