Pharmacogenetics sits at the heart of personalised medicine, linking a patient’s genetic profile to their response and tolerance to treatment. By guiding both therapy selection and dosing strategies, it enables more precise, effective care while helping to minimise adverse effects.
From 1 July 2026, the laboratory’s pharmacogenetics portfolio will be further strengthened with the launch of a new solution: sequencing and analysis of a 27-gene panel with the highest levels of clinical evidence (PharmacoPass Essential PPGX), aligned with leading international reference databases and guidelines, including PharmVar, PharmGKB, CPIC, DPWG, RNPGX and SmPC recommendations.
The report delivers clinically actionable insights, providing healthcare professionals with relevant information to support more informed and personalised patient management.
When should a PharmacoPass Essential pharmacogenetic panel be requested?
Before treatment initiation:
To support therapeutic decision-making by guiding drug selection and dosing.
During or after treatment:
In cases of treatment failure or adverse drug reactions potentially linked to a genetic origin.
Clinical indications (examples):
Patients managed in fields such as psychiatry, nephrology, oncology, or haemato-oncology (in line with HAS guidance, July 2025).
Therapeutic areas covered include:
Proton pump inhibitors, antiemetics, antibiotics, antivirals, antithrombotics, antiarrhythmics, beta-blockers, lipid-lowering agents, anticancer drugs, immunosuppressants, analgesics, NSAIDs, anaesthetics, and psychotropic medications, among others.
This analysis represents a more streamlined and simplified version of the extended exome-based pharmacogenetic passport, PharmacoPass Expert (EPGX).
Note: The report is tailored according to the clinical information provided, medical specialty, and the prescriber’s specific needs, to best support therapeutic decision-making.
