List of dynamic tests
Purpose
To measure residual insulin secretion after stimulation (notably in a subject with nascent diabetes).
Subject preparation
Fasting overnight and at rest.
Product
Glucagon Novo®.
Dose
1 mg by slow IV administration.
Protocol
- Blood sample (1 dry tube and 1 fluoride tube) for each time intervals: –15 min (T-15) and 0 (T0).
- Slow IV injection of the correct dose of glucagon.
- Blood samples (1 dry tube and 1 fluoride tube for each time interval) after:
- Short protocol: 10 min (T+10)
or - Full protocol: 3 (T+3), 6 (T+6) and 15 (T+15) min:
- Short protocol: 10 min (T+10)
Samples
After centrifugation, draw off plasma and serum. Freeze serum and store plasma at +4°C.

- Peptide C.
- Insulin.
