Apolipoprotein C III (Apo C III) is synthesized in the liver and is often found complexed with other apolipoprotein molecules in both atherogenic and non-atherogenic, protective lipoprotein particles.Apo CIII levels are increased in early, chronic renal insufficiency and in nephrotic syndrome.A number of forms of apo C III deficiency are suspected of being implicated in cardiovascular disease in the young.
