Clinic significance
A metabolite of the widely used solvents tetrachloroethylene, trichlorethylene and 1,1,1-trichlorethane. It first appears in the urine within 3 or 4 hours of the inhalation of trichlorethylene and remains at detectable levels for about 12 days.
