Clinical significance
Physiologically, it's an hormone enhancing arterial vasodilatation. Moreover, it's a renin inhibitor. Its secretion is highly stimulated in case of Left Ventricle Failure (LVF). It belongs to new class of biological markers : The Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Markers. The recommended indications of this assay are the following : - Left Ventricle Failure (LVF) diagnosis, - Left Ventricle Failure (LVF) prognostic evaluation, - Myocardial function evaluation after Infraction (MI), - Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor treatment follow up.
