Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9 is useful for therapeutic monitoring in pancreatic, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary malignancies. Its levels may also be increased in patients with pancreatitis, biliary lithiasis, cirrhosis or viral hepatitis.
