Clinical significance

They contribute to the diagnosis of thrombosis (venous or arterial) in young subjects, recurrent miscarriages (greater than 30 GPL) or persistent thrombocytopenia. The result is significant if two assays at a 1-month interval are greater than 40 GPL. Non-thrombogenic transient positive results may occur due to an infectious problem. IgG have a better specificity than IgM. They should be screened in conjunction with lupus type circulating anticoagulants on frozen citrated plasma
