Clinical significance

Determination of blood group (ABO) using 2 techniques (Beth-Vincent and Simonin). Full determination of Rhesus group. This procedure includes testing for the D weak phenotype in pre- and post-natal examinations of the mother and of the babies born to Rh-negative mothers. According to French legislation dated 4 May 2002, the RH-KEL 1 phenotype is always tested in parallel with the ABO group.

Please specify the patients full civil status on the request form and primary tube: maiden name, married name or surname used, full first name, gender and date of birth. Please send us the primary tube.
Please also send us any recent blood transfusion details (in the last 4 months). Indicate any technical difficulties encountered during ABO-RH1 blood group testing.
RH-KEL1 phenotyping is systematically performed for ABO-RH1 grouping
