Clinical significance

Helicobacter pylori, a Gram-negative, spiral microaerophilic bacterium which causes gastritis. Identified on the basis of morphological and biochemical criteria. Culturing an isolate permits analysis of its sensitivity to antibiotics.

Sample on special agar transport medium T8 (supplied upon request) - store out of light
Must be tested no later than 48 hours after the collection of biopsies in the case of refrigerated shipments.
If the delay is > 48 hours, the sample must be frozen at the correspondent and then sent FROZEN. Indicate the dates of freezing of the sample.
