Clinical significance

Specific noradrenergic and serotoninergic antidepressant. Central action presynaptic alpha-2 antagonist which increases central noradrenergic and serotoninergic neurotransmission. The sedative properties would appear to be due to the hitamine H1 receptor antagonist activity. Very low anticholinergic acitivity. Overdosage symptoms are limited to prolonged sedation.
