Clinical significance

Essentially used in the diagnosis of prostatic complaints. However, we favour the determination of PSA, free and pro-PSA with the Phi Index calculation (Prostate Health Index) which enables the non-invasive identification of patients who are highly likely to present with a positive prostate biopsy result. In sperm, combined with fructose, citric acid and zinc tests, this parameter can be a marker of prostate-bladder function.
