Clinical significance
Neuroleptic, sedative neuroleptic piperidinate phenothiazine. Neuroleptic malignant syndrome: of low incidence, but exceptionally severe, potentially fatal. Occurs in young male subjects, following repeated injections of neuroleptics. Should be tested in the case of any unexplained fever, torpor, paleness, extrapyramidal rigidity, blood pressure instability, tachycardia. Biological effects: hyperleukocytosis, liver enzyme and CPK elevation.
