Clinical significance

PFAS are highly persistent compounds, found in various industrial processes and everyday objects (clothing, kitchen utensils, fire extinguishers, etc.). They are related to endocrine disruptors with a potential impact on human health. The Eurofins Biomnis laboratory offers LC-MS/MS analysis of 7 PFAS frequently found in the environment and in human samples. These are the 7 compounds on which we have the most experience, and for which interpretation values are available. Another extended PFAS panel, with the assay of 30 compounds, is also available (code PFASM).

Preanalytics
  • A tube specifically for this analysis : Yes
Further information

1 individual aliquot for this analysis.
PFAS are very persistent compounds, exposure over the few days before sampling will not have a significant effect on the result. However, precautions should be taken at the time of collection to avoid contaminating the sample:
Patient: no cream, lotion or sunscreen on the day of the blood test
Sampler: wearing gloves MANDATORY, avoiding latex
Use specific request form B107: Endocrine disruptors and environmental toxicology
