Clinic significance

This test is useful in the diagnosis of deficiency which reveals as hematological, neurological, muscular and opthalmological disturbances. Deficiency can be the result of inadequate intake and depleted reserves either due to increased need or reduced absorption.

• Heparin plasma (do not use separator gel)
• FROZEN

Further information

• Sample to be frozen within 90 minutes . Home sampling is not advisable.
• Store samples protected from light but do not pack the tube.
• If requested with vitamin A, 1 specific aliquot for both assays.
